Chateau 2nd Floor Lights & Miniature Finds

I nabbed 2 chandeliers at the Chicago Miniature Show this weekend and was anxious to get them installed. This truly finishes each room.

I got a unique chandelier from Live a Little Miniatures and another Clare Bell Brass one. I already had one Clare Bell Brass, so those 2 went into the bedrooms and the hall got the fancier unique one. I'm  pleased with how these chandeliers look.

Also you will notice some other finds from the miniatures shows. The rooster is from BB Miniatures, and the bench and pillows are from Wilson Santiago Dollhouse Linens and More. The bust is from Ron Hubble. The sunflower vase is from Miniature Cellar

That cute teddy bear in the bedroom and the cat in the hall are from Purple B Emporium and the blue box on the floor is from Wagon Mountain Miniatures. I just learned about their painting style. Hinderloopen art - "Hindelooper art is a type of traditional decorative painting originated in the northern province of Friesland, The Netherlands." I guess its Norwegian Rosemaling. The cream basket with green is from Vilia Miniatures

In the master bedroom the 3 drawer decorative box on the bombe chest is from an artisan in Italy - Alemikimikiri

Purchases from miniatures shows in the spring

I'm finally getting around to photographing them and posting about these...where does the time go??

Valerie Casson had a display at The Miniature Show and I was ogling her fabulous pottery work! Bought a polka dot teapot! She has done some furniture as well, I purchased this black color washed toile chair, and this pretty pink tuffet!

Debbie Heard had some really nice things, and I don't know the artisans who made them. I got 2 exquisite flowers, an oh so sweet teddy bear, a Raggedy Ann, and a ginger jar.

Cea's Garden  had a booth at The Miniature Show and had some really incredibly detailed plants and the person manning her booth had to point out some of the detail. I was sold when she pointed out the snail on the hostas in the fountain! I also got the topiaries from her.

Items from the 2017 Miniatures shows

I went to all 3 shows, taking Friday off and going to both the 3 Blind Mice and the The Miniature Show. Saturday I did the Bishop show and then went back to 3 Blind Mice to complete cabinets I needed for the kitchen.

This doll from Lilli's Littles called to me. I don't usually buy many dolls but I had to have her. She's sitting in a JBM leather chair also purchased at the show.

These bedroom pieces seemed perfect for the 3rd floor girl's bedroom. They are from The Cutest Things LLC.

The red leather chair and some canes will reside in the study.

Here's a much better photo of the canes (and the stand), handmade from a gentleman from France.

I selected 2 pieces from BB Miniatures - I love her work.

An unfinished bookshelf, and a cute basket.

Some of the kitchen cabinets I got from M&R Miniatures.

Estate Sale With Mini Finds

I attended an estate sale nearby where the woman who owned the house was a miniaturist after retirement. She did needlework and had a business with another woman - Suzanne and Stephanie was the name of that business. Her name was Suzanne Horgen,

An example of her work that I bought.

In addition, she did build furniture - this box - a very solid and well built piece, nicely finished.

I found 2 pieces of furniture by a Lee G, an artist I don't yet know about. This furniture is very well built - detailed and the finish is remarkable.

Some smaller items include fruit, bird plates and baskets.
