The wallpaper on the left side had a repair, I replaced the last piece on the left. That was the last thing needed to then install the crown molding. And, then the J Getzan chandelier!

Chateau decorating thoughts
I have Lawbre grey stone flooring tiles, enough for the large wing, what will be a study, conservatory or such. I've begun cutting the flooring templates and decided I'd lay out some of these tiles to see how they might look. I'm thinking a really tiny spacing, so I can add grout.
The crown molding I want to use on the first floor - I don't have enough to do LR, DR and foyer, only the LR and DR. I bought a different one recently for the foyer and was playing around with it, and some possible wallpaper.

French Country enhancements
Some things I've gotten done over the last few days and/or am in the process of.
The cove molding I was adding to the kitchen cabinets looked a bit too small....
I ordered and am now painting 1/2" scale crown for this. More pictures as they get done.
I also was missing a knob for the stove, so ordered a set from Kathleen's Miniatures. They are so cute! I'm waiting on some grates before I glue them on but here's a picture with one placed, and the set.
The stair landing railing had newel posts that were both big and extended into the stairway too much, and I got some narrower ones. Need to get them cut, stained and glued but here's the effect.
The second floor crown molding is just not grand enough, especially since I added the doorcases. I found a Unique Miniatures trim - came today so I painted and glued it in the master bedroom. I am very pleased with the results and will do the same for the other 2 rooms on the second floor.

French Country Crown Molding
Since I have these grand tall rooms in this grand house, I knew I wanted a larger and more ornate type of crown molding, at least on the first floor.
I had some leftover Falcon resin trim, really frieze, from doing the Whitledge-Burgess Patisserie and loved it. I decided I would use that under regular crown molding. Here's the patisserie.
I was doing this work in fall of 2017 and had to hunt a bit as Falcon was going out of business and I would need a large quantity. Found some stock and bought it all. (The Whitledge-Burgess workshop was back in 2009). Others have asked me recently how I did this and that led me to post it now. Its also a good way for me to record what I did for reference later.
